Synopsis: Lord Alec Knight wasn’t himself ever since the only girl he’d ever consider marrying wed another instead. When he and his friends came across a girl sleeping outside his friend’s house, they mistakenly believed she was early for their debauched party. When she runs off, Alec felt compelled to follow her, not because she was beautiful and had a great left punch but because she stirred something in him.
Miss Becky Ward let the kind gentleman believe her a lady of the night not just for the food and shelter he offered but because if her guardian ever caught her- and she knew he was powerful enough to do so eventually, her innocence would be forfeit anyway. She did not want to involve him but when he followed and rescued her a second time she couldn’t get rid of him. When he proposed marriage out of honor for her sacrifice, she refused him. Instead they forged a plan that would reveal her ward’s heinous crimes and return Rebecca to her home. Alec wouldn’t mind marrying her though, if she’d let him.

Comments: It was a good story. Characters were great the flow was nice. Somehow didn’t like the detailed flashbacks. Not sure why they turned me off but there you have it. Alec hid her while he enacted their plan. Thought they spent way too much time together but Alec was really noble- he didn’t dare touch her until she agreed to marry him. Woman from past tried to break them up and was catalyst to Becky being caught and his friends almost murdered.
